The Washington Pavilion brings science and art to life
When I was with other bloggers in Sioux Falls, SD, I had no idea what the Washington Pavilion was. I knew we would go there, but I really had no idea what to expect. For beginners, it is an old high school.
When you go up and down the stairs and walk through the corridors, you can imagine the school and imagine that you are walking through the corridors with other students.

They have a corridor where they have behaved as they were and a room that shows what the classrooms looked like. It was very nice to see the trophy cabinet and the photos of the team from the past through the hall.
So what is the Washington Pavilion?
The mission of the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Sciences is to educate, entertain, inspire and enrich the community by making art and science part of our lives. The Washington Pavilion's vision is to remain the region's most important artistic, scientific and cultural institution and a national model for multi-faceted and community-supported institutions.
They have a beautiful auditorium where concerts, performances and shows take place. The Husby Performing Arts Center is beautiful and does not seem to be in a bad state. You can view your schedule here. The pavilion also houses the Visual Arts Center, which brings together exhibitions of leading regional, national and international artists in its seven spacious galleries.

I have discovered so many great pieces and I love that the shows run, so you can always find something new. My favorite part of the pavilion was the Kirby Science Discovery Center. You have many interactive stations where you can play and learn. His T. Rex even masquerades as a butterfly for Halloween!
Roy's career at the Science Center began in the 1960s when he volunteered at the Center for Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio. He soon became an important figure in the museum, started his camping program and was President and CEO of COSI for 13 years. Roy was a member of the board of ASTC for eleven years, of which two years as president.
After he founded his own consultancy firm, Roy L. Shafer Company, he became an ASTC Organizational Coach, helping the organization to develop its mission, strategic plan and core values and goals.
ASTC awarded him the ASTC Fellow Award for Outstanding Contribution in 1999. After his death, the board of directors named ASTC Roy's Leading Edge Awards in honor of his progressive thinking, his dynamic leadership and his dedication to our profession.
Suitability: ASTC members with a good reputation (with the exception of the home institution of a jury member of the Leading Edge Awards) can submit a nomination for themselves or for one of their colleagues or for another institution or person. Rich Naser is chairman of the Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship and the USD Discovery District as part of his role as director of entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives for the economic development organization Forward Sioux Falls.
These initiatives focus on the development of human capital, early funding and research infrastructure needed to support the growth of companies, entrepreneurs and innovators. The GEAR Center houses the USD Biomedical Technology program and serves as an incubator for the Discovery District, an 80-hectare innovation, community, learning, working and living with each other and comprises 26 buildings with a total of 1.1 million square feet.

Rich's career in business development began in 1994 at the Chamber of Commerce of Sioux Falls Area. With a passion for cooperation, he successfully brings civil, government and private companies together to support business initiatives.
Rich is a member of various boards and committees to maintain these relationships, including Computer Information Systems Advisory Council of the Southeast Technical Institute, the University Center Advisory Council and Kirby Science Discovery Center Advisory Council.
In his spare time he held the MotoGP racing series and spent time with his wife Rebecca and their children Dillon, Anna and Rebecca.

The Washington Pavilion is home to the region for art, entertainment and science. Housed in a beautifully renovated historic building in the center of Sioux Falls, it is all under one roof one of the few institutions in the world, performing arts, visual arts and interactive science.
